Are you a designer with a passion for using your skills for good?

We're looking for a voluntary creative designer to help us bring our Food Bank Van to life through eye-catching branding and impactful messaging.

What will you be doing?

What’s the project?

Maidstone Homeless Care currently runs a mobile food bank to reach those most in need across our community. We want the van to tell a story - clearly showing its purpose, celebrating the generosity of our supporters, and standing out on the road.

What will you be doing?

  • Create a compelling and clear visual design for the van that communicates its mission.
  • Develop a layout that allocates branding space to various sponsors, sized according to donation levels (e.g., side panels, back doors, lower strip, etc.).
  • Help us reflect dignity, community, and hope in the overall aesthetic.

What are we looking for?

You’ll need:

  • A strong sense of visual storytelling and branding.
  • Graphic design skills (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or similar).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with our team and stakeholders.
  • Passion for social impact and community work.

What’s in it for you?

  • Be part of a meaningful project supporting vulnerable people in Maidstone.
  • Gain portfolio-worthy work and public recognition on the van and our materials.
  • Receive references and public thanks from Maidstone Homeless Care.

What difference will you make?

As the designer of our Food Bank Van, your work will be seen across Maidstone every single day - bringing visibility to vital services for people experiencing homelessness and food poverty.

Your design will:

  • Help connect people in need to food and support by making the van instantly recognizable and welcoming.
  • Celebrate our sponsors, encouraging more businesses and donors to get involved by showing their support proudly on the van.
  • Strengthen the identity of Maidstone Homeless Care, helping us build trust, credibility, and community awareness.

This is more than design - it’s about shaping how our community sees and supports its most vulnerable members.
