Caterpillar Dance School started in November 2007, as a 1-hour tiny tots disco and ballet class for 3-5 year olds. Starting with just 8 children it has grown to around 200 children aged between 3 and 18 years of age.
Gradually, with the growth and progression of children in the lower school, we are now able to offer a wide range of classes for all age groups including Classical Ballet, Tap Dance, Modern Jazz, Musical theatre, Commercial/Street Dance, Contemporary Dance and Acrobatic/Aerial Arts.
At Caterpillar Dance School, we believe in creating a positive learning environment of thinking dancers, who have excellent self-awareness. We encourage individuality, creativity, and strive for excellence by challenging children in our classes so they reach their full potential.
We are always looking for ways of developing our teaching further. We aim to produce confident and aspiring dancers, through shared knowledge and positive experiences. We believe teaching dance is about encouragement through understanding, thus striking a balance between discipline and enjoyment. Whether your child is a budding ballerina, top tapper or funky freestyler, we aim to provide a safe, comfortable learning environment, where your child can grow as an individual.
Our team are passionate about dance and have experience in many different dance styles. Whilst a foundation in Classical Ballet or Contemporary is strongly advised, children at Caterpillar Dance School are exposed to a range of technique and performance based classes. By offering a broad curriculum, we aim to develop a wider skills base for choreography, performance and appreciation.
